A freshman physical education major from Uzbekistan, there's no way Luiza Biktyakova could have imagined how successful her rookie season would be for the 2001 ABAC tennis team. Playing at #2 singles for Coach Margaret Treadway's team, Biktyakova was a perfect 24-0 and won the National Junior College Athletic Association national championship. She also teamed with Natalie Drabova, a duo that went 24-1 on the year, to claim the national title at #1 doubles and led ABAC to a fifth place team finish. As a sophomore in 2002, Biktyakova led ABAC to its eighth straight state title and a sixth-place finish in the national tournament. She later played at Georgia College and State University where she earned ITA All-America status and All-Peach Belt Conference honors in each of her two seasons there.
