TIFTON, Ga. - The Southern States Athletic Conference softball playoffs begin Thursday in Decatur, Ala., and the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Fillies get started with a 1 p.m. EST contest against Mobile.
The Fillies are the No. 6-seeded team entering the tournament, 10-14 in the conference and 20-24 overall. Mobile comes in as the No. 3 seed, 15-7 and 32-13, respectively.Â
The two have met twice this season, a doubleheader in Tifton March 13. Then ranked No. 18 nationally, the Rams divided games with the Fillies. The latter of those two games, a 3-1 ABAC win saw
Kinley Snider pick up two hits and drive in one while
Lindsey Paul gave up a single earned run pitching a complete game.
The tournament runs through May 2. All SSAC games will be broadcast live for free on
Urban Edge.
ABAC is guaranteed at least two games in the tournament. If they win over Mobile, they would immediately face the winner of Faulkner and Brewton-Parker. A loss would push them to the 7 p.m. game versus the winner of Game 6. That team could be any of Thomas, Point, Faulkner or Brewton-Parker.
The Fillies hope for a better 2026 than 2025 when they went 2-2 in the SSAC championship. Both wins were over Blue Mountain Christian.
It's been a better Year 2 for ABAC in the SSAC and NAIA. They have won more games, but in the conference (9 to 10) and overall (14 to 20).
Paul's last four appearances in the circle and seven of her last eight have seen her give up no earned runs.
Tess Rollins has four shutouts on the year.
Carter Gore, who won Player of the Week honors earlier this season, has the most RBIs for the Fillies at 23.
Alli Eidson has 20 ribbies and Snider is at 18.
Snider is also the leader in average and slugging percentage, at .373 and .483, respectively. Eidson's average is .314 and
Ansleigh Darby hits .307. Eidson currently is on a 10-game hitting streak.
ABAC fields at a .954 rate.
Hannah Capps has played a perfect outfield, with no errors in 70 chances.
