MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Two Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Stallions basketball players were honored Wednesday evening at the Southern States Athletic Conference banquet.
Dontae Smith was named to the All-Freshman Team and
Nate Mobley earned recognition on the Champions of Character Team.
Smith's late-season surge opened eyes in the SSAC as he earned a spot in the starting lineup.
Third on the Stallions in scoring 11.3 points game overall, he exploded in February to average 18.7 points per game over the seven-game span. For the year, he shot 76% from the free throw line and 41% from beyond the arc.
A senior, Mobley was coming into his own late in the season when he was injured in a game against Brewton-Parker Christian.
Mobley made four starts this year. He scored a season-high 14 points at William Carey Feb. 7.
