Shakiria Chaney finishes 2nd in NAIA in points per game

TIFTON, Ga. - Two years into their NAIA existence, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College's Fillies nearly had the No. 1 scorer in women's basketball. Shakiria Chaney finished second in points per game for 2025-26. Chaney, a senior from Tifton, averaged 23.3 points per game. That number trailed only Kaycie Warfel of Taylor (Ind.), who averaged 24.1 points per game.

Kennedy Stormer of Bismarck State, was third in the NAIA at 22.5 points per contest.

"Sis is one of the most dynamic basketball players I have ever seen play," said head coach Charles Wimberly. "She has all the fundamentals and skills to not just score the basket but play outstanding defense and be the leader of your team. What an exciting accomplishment to finish the season as one of the leading scorers in then nation. So proud for her!"

It's been an incredible run over two years for both ABAC and Chaney. The Fillies made their first ever Southern States Athletic Conference tournament in February and upset Thomas University for their first tournament win. The Fillies went to the wire with No. 2 seed Faulkner in the second round.

In those two years of playing for the Fillies, Chaney scored 1,142 points. She led ABAC in scoring both seasons.
