TIFTON, Ga. - The NAIA No. 24 Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Stallions open a big Southern States Athletic Conference series this afternoon, hosting Faulkner University (RV) at 5 p.m. Saturday is a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
The game will be the first of a three-game set featuring two of the SSAC's best, and is highlighted as the conference's Series of the Week.Â
Both ABAC and the Eagles have conference records of 8-4, tied for 2nd place and are one game behind William Carey (9-3). Each has played William Carey already, with the Stallions 1-2 and Faulkner 2-1.
Faulkner is 19-11 overall this year. Besides Carey, they have a three-game sweep of Point, won two from Brewton-Parker and dropped two to Tennessee Southern.
In conference competition in 2026, ABAC swept Brewton-Parker, won two from Thomas University and two from Loyola.
The Stallions boast the reigning SSAC baseball award winners:
Dylan Davis won Player of the Week and
Kade Haywood is Pitcher of the Week. The two haven't been the only hot players lately.
Zach Bowman is hitting a sizzling .424.
Quinten Rawls is at .369 and a team-leading 38 RBIs. Three players have hit 7 homers for the Stallions:
Cameron Campbell, Rawls and Davis.Â
ABAC is outscoring opponents this run 252-128, thanks not only to their outstanding bats but top-notch pitching as well.
The Stallions' 3.53 ERA is 6th best in the NAIA and is nearly a run better than anyone else's in the SSAC.
ABAC is also the SSAC's best in fielding percentage at .972 with the most amount of chances and the least amount of errors.
Edrien Martinez will wield a big bat for Faulkner. He leads the Eagles with 8 home runs and 30 RBIs. Martinez is hitting .390 for the year. Jeyson Polanco, who has been limited because of injury, has a .426 average with 6 homers.
Top starting pitchers for Faulkner have been Samir Rojas and Ramses Guerra.
ABAC originally dropped two of its three games against Faulkner in 2025, but had those losses overturned as part of multiple forfeits by Faulkner.
After this series, the Stallions go to NAIA No. 2 Georgia Gwinnett on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. game. Back in conference, they travel to Mobile for a three-game series against the Rams (6-6). Mobile hosts William Carey this weekend.
