HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College climbed two spots on the final day of the Carey Collegiate golf tournament to finish 8th as a team Tuesday.
Hosted by Southern States Athletic Conference rival, William Carey, the 54-hole tournament was played at Canebrake Country Club.
The hosts were 6th for the tournament, which was won by Webber International with a team score of -17. The top SSAC team was 4th-place Blue Mountain (-3). Faulkner and Mobile competed as well, both finishing several spots behind the Stallions.
Wheeler Ryan led the Stallions for the second tournament in a row, finishing 27th overall. Ryan was +4 overall, with two rounds at +1 72. He shot 7 birdies over three rounds.
Alex Hays and
Aren Flanders each shot at +8 overall to tie for 39th individually.
Aaron Stocks came in at +10 45th.
Hays' 2nd round had a huge highlight in the form of an eagle on the No. 2 hole. He had 5 birdies total over the three days.
Flanders scored 7 birdies, three each in the second and third rounds. He went to the clubhouse with a -2 score for Round 2, an 11-shot improvement over his first round.
Stocks had a great third round, an even 71 courtesy of four birdies.
Stewart Rustin struggled in the second round, but was +3 and +2 in the other two for ABAC.
