TIFTON, Ga. - It was quite a week for Shakiria Chaney, who earned Southern States Athletic Conference Women's Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this year Monday.

Chaney had double-doubles in all three games she played for Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, averaging an incredible 32.3 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. 

The Fillies won their third SSAC conference game of the season Saturday in a 77-51 shellacking of Point University. Chaney scored 33 points in that contest (14-of-28 from the field and 4-of-4 on free throws), with 15 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.

Two days before Point, Chaney scored her 1,000th point in two seasons at ABAC versus Brewton-Parker.

"What a tremendous milestone to reach 1,000 points in just two seasons," said head coach Charles Wimberly. "So proud of her and all her accomplishments. What a tremendous athlete and person."

Chaney is currently the second-leading scorer in all of the NAIA, averaging 23.3 points per game. The leader, Kaycie warfel of Taylor (Ind.), averages 24.2 points per game.

This is Chaney's second time winning SSAC Offensive POTW in 2025-26. She won it once in 2024-25. It is the third time this season a Fillie has won POTW. Reese Riddle earned the honor in December.
