ABITA SPRINGS, La. – The first golf tournament as an NAIA program was a success for the ABAC Stallion team as it placed third among eight teams in the Wolf Pack Invitational held at Money Hill Golf and Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.
Fellow Southern States Athletic Conference member Faulkner won the tournament shooting 8-over par for the two-day event. Spring Hill College, an NCAA Division II school from Mobile, finished second at +20 while ABAC finished at +28. Weatherford College (+30), SSAC member Loyola New Orleans (+32), Murray State, Okla. (+32), Bethel, Tenn. (+50), and the Spring Hill B team (+69) rounded out the field.

Alex Hays, a sophomore from Warner Robins, led the Stallions by shooting 149, 5-over par to finish tied for ninth in the individual standings. Freshman

Whit Hayes (+7), and Columbus junior
Stewart Rustin (+9) rounded about ABAC's scoring.
Faulkner's Rodolphe Cicala took low medalist honors with a two-day total of 141, 3-under par.
Next week, the Stallions will host the ABAC Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Spring Hill Country Club. ABAC will be joined by SSAC rival Brewton-Parker College, Talladega College, and Georgia Military College.
