TIFTON, Ga. - Two Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Fillies share in Player of the Weeks honors announced by head coach
Charles Wimberly this week:
Brianna Wimberly and
Reese Riddle.
ABAC won two of its last three games of the 2025 portion of the year. The loss was a near-upset. The Fillies won 72-47 at Beacon College, fell 77-67 to Georgia Gwinnett and blasted Trinity College of Jacksonville on Monday, 88-64.
"
Reese Riddle had a career-high 29 points and play tremendous defense to help the Fillies in victory," said Wimberly. Riddle also had 12 points at Beacon, with five rebounds. She netted 8 points against Georgia Gwinnett, a team that won by 40 points over ABAC in November.
"Wimberly sparked the Fillies with four first quarter three-point shots and finished with 15 points and was 5-of-7 from three-point land," said
Charles Wimberly of the guard's performance against Trinity. She played limited minutes versus Beacon after being injured and gritted through the GGC contest.
Brianna Wimberly's accuracy from distance helped the Fillies pull away early. Up 51-34 at intermission, they stretched that to as many as 35 points in the fourth quarter. It was a true team effort and Wimberly tied for the team lead with 3 assists.
Now 4-7, ABAC will not play again until 2026. The Fillies spend the first three games of the new year on the road, at Brewton-Parker Jan. 8; at Point Jan. 10 and at the College of Coastal Georgia Jan. 13. The next home game is Jan. 15 versus Loyola.
