TIFTON - Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College announced its first women's basketball Player of the Week, with the award going to
Brianna Wimberly.
Wimberly scored a season-high 21 points against Beacon College Nov. 8, making an impressive 7 of 10 three-point attempts. All of Wimberly's scoring was in the first half in ABAC's 98-52 victory.
In addition to the 21 points, she contributed 4 assists and 2 rebounds in only 22 minutes on the court.
"Bree is an outstanding three-point shooter and to see her perform so well early in the season after two ankle and knee surgeries is a true testament to her work ethic and time in the gym to recover to be the best she can be," said head coach
Charles Wimberly. "If she can continue to produce from beyond the three-point line she will definitely help our inside post, and spread the floor for our teams success."
Brianna Wimberly is averaging 7.7 points per game this season.
ABAC will take on Georgia Gwinnett College Saturday on the road and will play at Thomas University Nov. 22 before coming back home Nov. 24 to take on the College of Coastal Georgia.
