Box Score NEW ORLEANS – Poor shooting continued to plague ABAC's young Fillies Thursday night as they lost 107-52 to the Loyola Wolf Pack in Southern States Athletic Conference action.
The key to the blowout was an offensive eruption by the home team in the third period when they outscored ABAC 36-12. The Fillies could never put a run together to test the high-scoring Pack, shooting only 30 percent from the field, 19 percent from 3-point range, and 50 percent from the free throw line.
Loyola also took advantage of their larger size, outrebounding ABAC 53-41 and outscoring ABAC inside 58-16.
The game got away from the visitors early as Loyola finished the first period on a 14-4 run for a 30-16 lead.
Freshman
Reese Riddle led ABAC with 16 points while
Shakiria Chaney had a rare off night offensively with 10 points and four rebounds. Loyola sophomores Alissa O'Dell and Deniya Thornton led the way for the Wolf Pack with 22 and 20 points respectively.
ABAC (5-15 overall, 0-9 in the conference) will continue its longest road trip of the season Saturday with a trip to Hattiesburg, Miss. to face league foe William Carey.
