Box Score 4 LAKE WALES, Fla. - Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College picked up its third victory of the softball season Friday at Warner. The 6-0 win was part of a split with Warner, which took the second game 8-0. Saturday, the Fillies fell twice to Southeastern, 9-0 and 4-3.
FRIDAY, GAME 1
Tess Rollins surrendered 9 hits to Warner, but got the shutout as ABAC rolled. Rollins struck out 2 but walked none in the 6-0 finish.
ABAC was up 2-0 after an inning, courtesy of a sacrifice fly by
Carter Gore and
Ava Roland double, scoring
Lexi Metts and
Alli Eidson, respectively.
Ashley Archibald hit a two-run homer in the 4th, bringing in
Hannah Capps. Metts made it 5-0 in the 7th, scoring on an error as
Emily Turley stole second. Turley scored the sixth run on a double by Roland.
FRIDAY, GAME 2
Ava Roland collected both Fillies hits.Â
Seven of Warner's runs came over the 2nd and 3rd innings.
Lindsey Paul recorded 3 strikeouts.
Robby Vann and
Chloe Stone finished out the game in the circle.
SATURDAY, GAME 1
Southeastern walked off a victory in Saturday's early game with ABAC with a single run in the bottom of the 7th. ABAC was up 3-1 after two frames, then the Fire tied it at 3 in the 3rd.
A simple single by
Ava Roland turned into runs as Southeastern miscues plated both her and
Lexi Metts on the play.
Southeastern scored once in the 1st, then ABAC tacked on a run the second - a double by
Olivia Britt to drive in
Kendall Fowler.
The Fillies had four hits in the game. Britt and
Hannah Capps both doubled.
Lindsey Paul went the distance pitching.
SATURDAY, GAME 2
ABAC held Southeastern close, trailing only 2-0 Â through 3 innings. Southeastern exploded for 7 in the 4th, however.
Shelby Smith had two of the Fillies' five hits, including a double.
Carter Gore,
Ava Roland and
Hannah Capps all singled.
ABAC has a pair of home doubleheaders this weekend. The Fillies host College of Coastal Georgia Friday at 2 p.m.; and Saturday at 2 p.m. versus Truett McConnell.
