Box Score In the second game of their season-opening doubleheader at Saturday afternoon, the ABAC Fillies showed that they have a flair for the dramatic.
 
After dropping the first game to the College of Coastal Georgia 4-1, the Fillies again trailed 3-0 entering the sixth inning of Game 2. But the team's first rally of the year could not have come at a better time as they tied the game with three runs in the sixth inning before sophomore rightfielder Alli Eidson scored the game-winner on a Mariner passed ball for the 4-3 win.
 
Eidson led off the bottom of the seventh with a single and moved to second on Emma Humphrey's groundout to third base. Ashley Archibald safely reached first on a fielder's choice that put Eidson on third, just in time to scamper home on McKenzie Collins's wild pitch to win the game.
 
Freshman Tess Rollins earned the win in relief of fellow freshman Addison Tyre and both pitched well. Together, they scattered six hits and repeatedly pitched out of jams, stranding four Mariners in scoring position throughout the game. ABAC made the most of four hits – two from Eidson and one each from Emma Humphrey and Ava Maxwell.
 
In the opener, Coastal jumped on top early with three runs in the top of the first. The Fillies got one back in the bottom of the frame when Humphrey drove in Eidson with an RBI single. But that turned out to be the only run ABAC could muster against Coastal's talented southpaw Rylee Mills, who earned the win.
 
Now 1-1 on the young season, the Fillies will head south for the weekend. They fill play Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla. for a doubleheader Friday before heading to Lake Wales, Fla. Saturday for two games against Warner University.
