BAINBRIDGE, Ga. - The Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Fillies will play at the Bainbridge campus Tuesday, Dec. 2, in a Southern States Athletic Conference contest against Thomas University at 5:30 p.m.
This will be the first time the Fillies have played basketball in Bainbridge, and the first time a SSAC game has taken place there.
Admission is free.
ABAC (1-5, 0-1 SSAC) finished its pre-Thanksgiving schedule with a 144-95 loss to the College of Coastal Georgia. Thomas (5-5, 1-0 SSAC) played once last week, a 68-64 loss to Ave Maria.
The teams have already played once this year; the Night Hawks won a 70-52 battle in Thomasville. ABAC trailed by a mere 48-41 going into the fourth quarter. In that game,
Shakiria Chaney scored 22 for the Fillies and
Reese Riddle contributed 10 points. ABAC also had 16 rebounds from
Dailey Jefferson. Thomas had four players in double figures, 24 points from Kennedy Collins.
Bainbridge is the first of a busy stretch for the Fillies before the end of 2025. ABAC hosts fellow SSAC team Life University at noon Saturday (in a doubleheader with the Stallions), travels to Beacon College Dec. 8 and has home games against Georgia Gwinnett Dec. 10 and Trinity College of Jacksonville Dec. 15.
While the Fillies face Thomas Tuesday, the Stallions (4-3) hit the road to take on the Peach Belt Conference's Columbus State (4-2), who are led by former ABAC head coach Robert Moore. The Stallions next play at home Saturday against Life.
