MOBILE, Ala. - Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College won the first game Friday against Mobile but dropped the second in a big SSAC baseball doubleheader on the road.
The Stallions won an 18-11 slugfest over the Rams but dropped a
GAME 1
Runs, runs and more runs.Â
ABAC had a narrow 5-4 lead through four innings, but exploded for 10 in the 5th to put the game out of reach.
ABAC bashed out 14 hits and took advantage of 10 walks, 3 hit batters and 2 Mobile errors.
Zack Bowman's bat stayed hot as he went 4-for-6 with 5 RBIs.
Chasin Cash and
Drew Rothschild both homered and
Kam Taylor drove in 4 more runs. Rothschild and
Parker Wallace each had 3 RBIs.
Rothschild's homer came in the 4th, a three-run shot that also scored Taylor and
Cameron Campbell. Cash went yard in the 5th, a solo clout.
Reigh Jordan went 5 of the 7 innings for his 6th win of the year.
Jeff Hays and
Logan Bolinger closed it out.
GAME 2
Two 1st inning runs for the Rams were all the difference Mobile needed for a 5-3 victory over ABAC in the second contest.
Two wild pitches in the 1st plated two Mobile runs.
ABAC came back with a single run in the 2nd on a
Kam Taylor homer, but the Rams also had a run.
The Stallions again made it a one-run difference in the 4th after
Cameron Campbell singled in
Dylan Davis.
Mobile got insurance in the form of two runs in the 7th. The Rams traded a run for an out in the 9th,
Drew Rothschild scoring on a grounder by
Quinten Rawls.
Kade Haywood went 6 1/3 innings, striking out 3.
Drew Hurst finished up, fanning 2.
