Mobile wins Game 3 to take baseball series from ABAC

MOBILE, Ala. - Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College dropped only its second Southern States Athletic Conference series this season with a 9-8 loss to Mobile Saturday to wrap their three-game series.

Mobile scored six runs over the 6th and 7th innings to stun the Stallions, who entered with a 25-13 record.

ABAC had an early 3-0 lead behind a Cameron Campbell single in the 1st that plated Zack Bowman and an error in the 2nd that brought home Billy Girgis and Hunter Robinson.

The Rams tied in the bottom half of the 2nd with three runs. ABAC went ahead by one in the 3rd on an RBI groundout by Drew Rothschild.

Their lead seemed much safer in the 6th behind four tallies. Dylan Davis hit a sacrifice fly, driving in Girgis. Chasin Cash then mashed a three-run homer, bringing in Zack Bowman and Quinten Rawls.

ABAC rallied with two outs in the top of the 9th, loading the bases on a Bowman single, a walk to Davis and Cash being hit by a pitch, but were unable to score.

Girgis had 3 hits in the game and Bowman and Cameron Campbell each had 2. Cash drove in 3.

Trace Hodges started the day on the hill. He struck out 4 in 4 innings.

ABAC's next games are a series with Point University as part of homecoming weekend. They play Point in a single game Friday at 5 p.m., then a doubleheader Saturday starting at 1 p.m.

The losses put the Stallions in 4th place in the SSAC, two games behind first-place Loyola.
