LAKE WALES, Fla. - Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College split games with Warner University Friday on the road.
The Stallions dropped their first game, 5-4, but recovered 11-4 victory in the nightcap.
GAME 1
Warner walked off the opener with a single run in the bottom of the 7th inning.
ABAC went up 3-0 in the 1st frame, courtesy of an RBI single by
Chasin Cash, and two more coming home on a base hit by
Cameron Campbell.
Warner tied it in the bottom of the 2nd, then added a single run in the 4th.
Campbell hit a solo homer in the 6th to bring the score to 3-3. Warner loaded the bases in the 7th and came up with a two-out single for the victory.
ABAC was held to four hits, half coming off the bat of Campbell who went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Cash drove in the other on a 1-for-3 game. Quintin Rawls,
Dylan Davis, Cash and Campbell scored the runs.
Reigh Jordan went 6 innings, surrendering 3 earned runs. He struck out 5 in a no-decision.
GAME 2
ABAC fell behind 3-2 in the second game, but exploded for nine runs in the 3rd inning to take control.
In that frame,
Chasin Cash tied the contest on a single that brought home
Quinten Rawls.
Dylan Davis followed with a double, scoring
Cameron Campbell.
Davis and Cash plated on
Kam Taylor's single, and two more (Joseph Cooney, Taylor) when Rawls forced an infield error.Â
Still in the 3rd, Campbell doubled in Rawls and
Hunter Robinson. Up again, Cash delivered another hit, scoring Campbell.
That was more than enough for the Stallions. Warner scratched one more run in the 6th.
ABAC had two runs in the 2nd: Davis coming home on a
Drew Rothschild single and Robinson driving in Rothschild.
Drew Hurst went six innings of four-run ball to earn the win. He struck out 9 and walked none.
Trace Hodges fanned 1 in the 7th.
Rawls and Cash each had 2 hits. Rawls, Campbell, Cash and Taylor had 2 RBIs apiece.
