MT. VERNON - The Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Stallions will be looking to Point University Saturday to get momentum back in their direction after a 79-66 loss to Brewton-Parker on Thursday.
ABAC trailed 43-32 at the break. The host Barons started the second half on fire before the Stallions settled down and outscored Brewton-Parker over the final 13 minutes of the game.
Matthew Mairena made 11-of-12 at the free throw line en route to leading the Stallions in scoring with 21 points. He also had 6 rebounds.
Three other ABAC players joined Mairena in double-figures scoring:
Tommie Hall with 11 points and
Bryce Wimberly and
P.J. Mathews at 10 points. Hall and Mathews joined Mairena with 6 rebounds apiece.
Though the Stallions struggled from the field (19-of-55), they were electric from the free throw line at 23-of-27.
