TIFTON, Ga. - Loyola won a 77-51 contest from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Thursday night as the top two scorers in the Southern States Athletic Conference faced off.
Shakiria Chaney came in averaging 24.3 points per game to Deniya Thornton's 18.4.
Thornton had early foul trouble and was limited to a mere 3 points over 13 minutes. However, Loyola more than made up for her absence with Alissa O'Dell, who scored 32 points on 12-of-16 shooting and made it a double-double with 11 rebounds.
Chaney scored six of ABAC's first seven on the evening, but faced a tough defense after. She finished at 19 points and is the NAIA's second-best scorer nationally at 23.9 points per game.
The Fillies trailed only 12-11 after a quarter, but a 20-5 Wolf Pack run in the second meant a 32-16 halftime deficit.
Reese Riddle continued her outstanding play by contributing 15 points to ABAC's total.
Taylor Frazier came off the bench for 6 points.
Dailey Jefferson was the rebounds leading at 9 points. Chaney had 6 rebounds, 3 steals and a block.
The Fillies return to action Saturday at noon against William Carey.
