MONTGOMERY, Ala. – A few close losses cost the ABAC Stallions Saturday in a 5-2 loss to the Rams from the University of Mobile.

In singles, top-seeded Luka Blache fell to Martin Jeanne 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, while at number six, ABAC's Artur Lovison lost to Youssef Fazazi 7-5, 6-4. The Stallions did get wins from Ryan Neveu at number two as he beat Leon Finke 6-7, 6-4, 6-2, and from Thibaut Blanchart at number three as he won over Juan Arias 6-1, 6-2. Fourth-seeded Benjamin Ranby-Al lost to Callum Dickson 6-1, 6-4 and fifth-seeded Maximilian Marquard lost to Sergio Ruiz Ramiro 6-4, 6-3.

Another close match also cost ABAC the doubles point. At number one, the team of Neveu and Blache lost to Dickson and Finke 7-6 (7-4 in the tiebreaker). Marquard and Ranby-Al lost to Santiago Reina and Ramiro 6-3 at number two, while Blanchart and Matthew Rodgers defeated Luis Perez and Arias at number three, winning 7-5.

The Stallions have three non-conference matches this week. They will travel to Milledgeville on Wednesday to play Georgia College and State University before a Friday trip to Lawrenceville to meet Georgia Gwinnett, the number one NAIA men's team in the country. ABAC returns home Saturday to face the Eagles from Oxford University of Emory at 1 p.m.
