TIFTON, Ga. - 'Tis the season for the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Fillies. The Fillies won their fourth game of 2025-26 Monday and it was arguably their best team performance of the year, an 88-64 victory over Trinity College of Jacksonville that saw everyone get extended playing time.
The contest was the last of the 2025 portion of the schedule; ABAC won't play again until Jan. 8, 2026 at Brewton-Parker.
Reese Riddle scored a career-high 29 points in the victory, connecting on 11-of-19 field goals with 4 offensive rebounds.
Shakiria Chaney scored 22 and
Brianna Wimberly made 5-of-7 three-pointers for 15 points. The Fillies were 31-of-76 from the field overall, 9 of those shots being from behind the arc.Â
Head coach
Charles Wimberly praised his team's defense. A halfcourt set was particularly effective as turnovers and fast-break points were the Fillies' forte. ABAC forced 35 turnovers and scored 37 points from these. Multiple times, Trinity Christian threw a pass directly to an ABAC defender, setting up an easy bucket at the other end on a fast break.
Trinity briefly held a four-point lead in the opening quarter at 12-8 before
Dailey Jefferson assisted Riddle on a trey at 3:57 to tie the game at 12-all. ABAC took the lead for good at 1:08 on
Camiya Starks free throws. The Fillies ended the quarter on an 8-0 run.
It was a 51-34 lead for the Fillies at halftime. ABAC again ended the frame strong, again on an 8-0 streak.
After outscoring Trinity 23-16 in the third quarter, ABAC's lead peaked at 35 (86-51) with 2:52 to go on
Melody Charlton's free throw. There was also a big cheer in the third period when
Jaye Beth Womble scored her first basket of the varsity season.
Besides the points, the Fillies saw Jefferson pull down 13 rebounds and come up with 4 steals.
