TIFTON - Already on a hot streak, the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Stallions caught fire Thursday night, picking up their fourth win of the season with an 81-72 win over Florida College.
The Stallions will take a 4-1 mark into Saturday's 2 p.m. Southern States Athletic Conference matchup with Dalton State at Gressette Gymnasium.Â
Both ABAC and the Roadrunners are 1-0 in SSAC play, each with a win over Thomas University. The Stallions defeated Thomas 83-75 Tuesday and the Roadrunners edged Thomas 68-67 Thursday.
Matthew Mairena and
Tommie Hall were the stars of Thursday's show, bucketing 24 and 23 points, respectively. Hall had a double-double as he added 10 rebounds.
The Stallions, down 39-37 at intermission, outscored the Falcons 44-33 in the second half in front of a rowdy crowd of ABAC fans.
DeAli Thompson added 8 points, the final two on a thunderous dunk on a Mairena assist that pushed the score to 79-69 with 15 seconds left.
