MT. VERNON, Ga. - Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College's men's basketball team earned its first victory of the 2025-26 campaign Friday night with a nail-biting 69-68 win over Webber International at a tournament game played at Brewton-Parker Christian.
ABAC held a five-point lead, 67-62, with under two minutes to play, but Webber tied the score on a layup with 16 seconds to go.
Matthew Mairena hit a jumper to regain the lead.
Webber had a chance to tie at the end on free throws, but could only make one of the two attempts.
The Stallions trailed 35-32 at halftime.
P.J. Mathews scored 19 points to lead ABAC in scoring.
Tommie Hall scored 10 and Mairena had 8.
DeAli Thompson had 9 rebounds.
