TIFTON, Ga. - The basketball nets were on fire Monday night as the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Fillies ended their pre-Thanksgiving schedule with a feast of points at Gressette Gymnasium.
The Fillies dropped 95 points into the nets, but were unable to pick up their second victory of the 2025-26 season as visiting College of Coastal Georgia scored 144.
Coastal Georgia, which uses a fast-paced offense akin to Grinnell, had a 72-43 halftime lead. The Mariners went over 100 points in the third quarter.
ABAC did score the first basket of the game, a layup by
Dailey Jefferson.
Shakiria Chaney's 21 paced the Fillies. Chaney made 6-of-11 shots from the field and 8-of-10 free throws.
Reese Riddle, making her first varsity home start of the year, had 17 points, and Jefferson added 15.
Camiya Starks was nearly in double-figures with 9 points.
ABAC's next home game will be at the Bainbridge campus. On Tuesday Dec. 2, they take on Thomas University at 5:30 p.m., which will be a Southern States Athletic Conference game. Their next Tifton game is Dec. 6 at noon against Life University.
