TIFTON -
Rebeca Lopez just joined the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College women's cross country team, but she is already making history.
Lopez set a new school record Sept. 5 at the Valdosta State Border Clash, finishing in 22:50, a pace of 7:22.
She has no plans to stop there. Head coach
Kaitlyn Hunt said Lopez has plans to break the record again.
"She said that was not her best work," said Hunt.
The Fillies were 10th at Valdosta State. They will run again Friday, Sept. 12 in Gainesville at a meet hosted by the University of North Georgia.
Besides Lopez's time,
Ali Lewis crossed the finish line in 24:30;
Lily Relihan in 27:43;
Gabby Perez Alvarado in 30:28 and
Jordanne Yunis in 34:13.
